New Foodservice show hits the mark

Foodservice Australia, the foodservice and bakery industry expo running later this month in Sydney has “hit all the preshow targets including exhibitor and visitor numbers”, according to Exhibition Organiser Timothy Collett.

This annual industry event has actually been around for over 40 years. However last year it was taken over by a new organiser and effectively relaunched.

Collett says the event is now “more exciting, more relevant and more important to industry buyers”. Changes include a new venue, new theatres, new industry workshops and a wider range of exhibitors.

He says “we have a fantastic range of exhibitors involved, and have easily exceeded our target of 100 stands. That is a great result given we only allow quality companies who are already supplying the foodservice and bakery sectors”.

Exhibitors include major suppliers such as Kraft, Nespresso, Fonterra, Bidvest, Mars, Kikkoman, Sandhurst, Rational, Alsco, Winterhalter and W&P Reedy. They also include specialist suppliers such as Simon George & Sons, Spiral Foods, Paisley Foods, Serendipity Icecream, Sous Vide and Black Swan.

But there is more than just exhibition stands. Attractions such as Chef of the Year, World Masters of Chocolate, Australia’s Best Pie and the Global Pizza Challenge are all reporting record entries. Visitors will be able to watch all the action on the show floor.

There is also a series of free workshops and seminars. They will feature well leading chefs, restaurateurs and industry experts speaking on topics designed to boost knowledge and provide pathways through the current testing times.

This is not an exhibition for everyone - but if you are in the foodservice industry it will be one of the best you attend. That is because every exhibitor is interested in your business and ready to provide solutions.

Collett says visitor registrations are running well ahead of expectations and he expects a quality crowd of 5000 buyers. This bodes well for a highly successful event, and will see the show grow even more next year when it returns to Melbourne.

Foodservice Australia runs from 27-29 May at the Royal Hall of Industries, Moore Park, Sydney. Entry is strictly trade only. For more information and free registration visit www.foodserviceaustralia.com.au or call 03 9999 5465.
