Morris Jones Bar & Restaurant

Morris Jones, Windsor’s newest restaurant bar has been up and running for eight months now and we're pleased to announce the launch of our Autumn/Winter Dinner Menu. Morris Jones is a gastro pub style restaurant, wine and cocktail bar open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper 7 days a week.

The Menu designed by Head Chef Tony Milton is a rustic funked up Windsor bistro come gastro pub feel, being quintessentially European, with a wood fired char grill central to the kitchen and able to seat 140 patrons.

Signature Menu Items include: Snapper Pie; Pappardelle Duck Ragu; House made Spinach and Ricotta Gnocchi with peppered butternut pumpkin, pine nuts and crispy sage; Blackened Barramundi with roast capsicum salsa.

Our wood fired char grill plays a principal role in our kitchen and on our menu, including offerings of three cuts of premium steak, poultry and seafood, all of which are char-grilled using red gum and grey box, producing delicious mouth-watering smoky wood flavours in all of our meats.

Savoury crepes are signature lunchtime dishes, with the traditional Breton Crepe of Gruyere cheese, fried egg and ham a favourite among regulars.

Wine List is mostly Australian and French, with a sprinkling of NZ, German, Spanish and Italian wines.

Cocktail Bar - In addition to the restaurant, Morris Jones has an equally sized Cocktail Bar, serving cocktails with inspiration from France’s hip bars from the 50’s and 60’s. The bar area spills out on to a lush open garden courtyard, with a Patrick Blanc inspired vertical garden wall. House cocktails include the Amelia, Henry M Jones and our version of the popular Espresso Martini.

Situated in the uber cool bohemian Windsor end of Chapel Street, at number 163, this previously dilapidated 1887 heritage warehouse style building has been given a modern restoration by award winning designers Russell & George, who also designed Attica and St. Judes Cellars.

The Design incorporates close attention to highlighting the building’s lofty ceilings, feature beams and exposed brick walls. It has also included the restoration of the façade’s original business name, "H. Morris Jones & Co."

Restoring this magnificent old building has had its challenges, but has been immensely satisfying. We've found out so much about the fascinating history of this building and its original occupant, Henry Morris Jones, including that he was also a local Councillor, a Master Freemason and on the board of the Mt. Erica Baptist Church.

Local artist’s display their work on rotation on the restaurant’s walls, with Carmel Jenkins currently exhibiting her artwork.

Since opening in September last year, Morris Jones has gained a reputation and attracted media coverage for attracting local celebrities, models and sportspeople to both the restaurant and cocktail bar.

Co-owners are Hayden Burbank & Paul Kasteel.

Trading Hours Mon-Fri 8am-1am, Sat-Sun 9am-1am.

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days with a supper menu available until 12.30am.
