Montgomery Is Noosa bound

Noosa’s iconic restaurant berardo’s is excited to announce the appointment of Tim Montgomery to the position of Executive Chef for both berardo’s restaurant & bar and the Noosa International Food and Wine Festival.

Tim joins berardo’s from Bacchus restaurant in Newcastle. He trained as a Chef in Adelaide and previously was Head Chef at the award winning restaurant The Manse. While at the Manse Restaurant Tim was invited as one of the guest Chef’s at the 2007 Noosa International Food & Wine Festival to participate in one of the special degustation dinners at berardo’s restaurant & bar.

Under his last tenure, Bacchus was awarded four consecutive Chef’s Hats in the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide. As well, Bacchus recently gained recognition as number 43 in Gourmet Traveller’s Top 100 Australian Restaurants along with two stars in its 2014 Restaurant Guide.

Jim Berardo, Director of berardo’s and the Noosa International Food and Wine Festival said he was delighted to welcome Tim as part of the team.

“His wealth of experience will be coupled with our ongoing commitment in providing patrons with exquisite dining experiences, highlighted by well balanced, local ingredients.

He will also play an instrumental role in the further development and positioning of the Noosa International Food and Wine Festival.”

Tim will commence his new role on the September 30, 2013 with a new menu to be launched on November 1, 2013.

“I look forward to embracing the Noosa culture and the enormous contribution berardo’s and the Noosa International Food and Wine Festival has provided the Sunshine Coast on the world stage.

Montgomery’s menus will go beyond the farm to the table, weaving a truly locavore story into the menu.

His food philosophy is simplicity with imagination; well balanced meals combined with creativity, passion and a strong sense of regionality.

“Noosa is a place I have always loved and being provided the opportunity to work at berardo’s and Australia’s premier food, wine and lifestyle event, the Noosa International Wine Festival was too hard to pass up,” Montgomery said.

Geoffroy Marcq will remain as Head Chef of berardo’s restaurant & bar.
