Rising Sun has the best bistro in Australia

Auburn’s Rising Sun Hotel has taken out the Best Bistro – Regional at the Australian Hotel Association’s National Awards announced in Canberra recently.

Owners Paula and Ken Noack, daughter Sarah and head chef James Kolencik travelled to Canberra for the announcement, expecting an enjoyable night out and an opportunity to network with other hotel owners.

To their surprise they took out the national award. However there has been no time for celebrations.

“It’s been very exciting, but we’ve had no time to think to think about it, we got back on Friday and straight into preparations for the long weekend,” Paula said.

She attributed the win in part to the great staff who provided the excellent service, as well as the kitchen staff who created the dishes.

The team are not content to rest on their laurels, but will keep pushing ahead because they have something special to offer.

“Back to back awards would be amazing,” Paula said. 

The hotel, which won Best Bistro – Regional at the state awards, and was up against winners of the category from each state.
