Chur Burger opens second outlet

Fine-dining chef turned burgerman Warren Turnbull's Chur Burger takes its first McDonald's-eque step to world domination next weekend, opening a second outlet at The London Hotel in Paddington.

''We're testing the water with a pop-up, but if it goes really well, we'll stay,'' Turnbull says of the expansion.

The chef, who has a hit on his hands after turning the site of his once twin-toqued Assiette restaurant into Chur Burger, has had at least 20 serious approaches about expanding the concept.

''I learnt my lesson about doing too many things too quickly with District Dining and Mexico. Ideally, I'd like five or six Chur Burgers in Sydney and take it home to New Zealand,''  says Turnbull, who confirms  that he is no longer involved at Mexico, also in Surry Hills, following the division of assets with former business and personal partner, Mimi Gilmour.
