From fettuccine to fish in North Bondi

NORTH Bondi Italian lost its tricolore this week when it became North Bondi Fish.

Restaurateurs Matt Moran and Peter Sullivan bought the restaurant from Robert Marchetti a few months back when his empire got into strife; like just about everything these days, Fish is an informal kind of place.

And the name says it all when it comes to food style.

Mains include salmon fillet with zucchini, mint and smoked almonds from the charcoal grill and "big bites", which run the gamut from crab linguine to barramundi burger.

Wash it down with homemade sodas, summery cocktails and slushies or jugs of white wine sangria.

Moran and Sullivan formed a partnership in 1988 and have since established a string of successful venues.

Aria Sydney opened in December 1999, followed by Aria Brisbane in 2009 and Aria Catering in 2010, with Chiswick in Sydney and Riverbar in Brisbane the more recent additions.

North Bondi Fish is now open Tuesdays to Sundays from 12pm, opening on Mondays from 5 February.
