A 33-YEAR-OLD Western Australian man is expected to front Proserpine Magistrates Court today for a fraud offence.

Whitsunday police alleged the man was at a Cannonvale restaurant yesterday about 8.50pm when he ordered and ate a meal that totalled more than $160.

Restaurant staff advised police that the man attempted to leave the restaurant without paying before being stopped.

After talking to police the man was arrested and has been charged with a fraud offence, police said.
