Dilapidated Minnamurra Mansion to become luxury eco-tourism resort

A derelict mansion on the NSW South Coast is set to be turned into a luxury eco-tourism resort.

Nordon Jago Architects has lodged plans to transform the "Minnamurra Mansion" in Dunmore into an eco-resort with 13 guest rooms, restaurant, panoramic terrace, pool, spa and rooftop bar. The proposed development also includes three separate one-storey pavilions with 20 additional guest rooms.

The building was abandoned when previous owner John Kosseris' business went into liquidation. Since then the building has been used as an unofficial skate park.

Under the new plans, the basement level will house a gymnasium and beauty therapy centre. The ground floor level will include a restaurant, lounge bar and terrace, swimming pool.

The first floor level will house 10 units and a reception; and three additional guests' units and a bar will be located at the rooftop level.

Eco-friendly design plans also include on-site collection and storage of rainwater, water efficiency measures, passive thermal design, efficient lighting and a high efficiency air-cooled centralised conditioning system.
