Mission Beach resort Elandra back on the market after only three months

The former Elandra Resort, in South Mission Beach, has been put back onto the market by its owners who only purchased the property in September.

Investment group Mayfair 101 bought the rundown resort as part of a buying spree in the area. They had also acquired Dunk Island for $32 million with plans to turn it into a luxury resort.

Elandra Resort is looking for offers around $6 million.

“It’s an opportunity to restore it to something new,” said Stephen Brown, from agency Brown & Co. “Or it could be part-private, part-commercial.”

The property is located on six hectares of grounds described as being “like a private zoo” with a large stretch of beach frontage, 40 accommodation rooms, resort pool and deck.

Brown said the property is back on the market after a “previous arrangement fell through”.

The property launched as Elandra in 2008 but has slowly run into disrepair.

The listing describes the property as having “the potential to be run as a boutique lifestyle health retreat focusing on wellness, yoga, meditation, or even a secluded and private haven for medicinal rehabilitation or detoxification purposes.”
