Hyatt Hotel to roll out Caption by Hyatt brand in Sydney

A Caption by Hyatt hotel development in Sydney is slated to be completed in early 2025, marking the introduction of the brand into Australia.

The news comes as Hyatt Hotels announced that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into management and related agreements with LFG Property for the development.

The Caption brand offers a hotel experience grounded in the local community where the people make the place.

Its aim is to combine the design and comfort of an upscale hotel with the flexibility of a select-service property.

The hotel will be developed in multi-cultural Haymarket, at the southern end of the Sydney Central Business District.

It is a thriving location which hosts Chinatown, bustling markets, a busy dining precinct, and the Capitol Theatre.

It is also close to Darling Harbor, Sydney International Convention Centre, several universities and the new Tech Central innovation and technology precinct.

The hotel will feature a purpose-built 174-guestroom.

Guests will be welcomed by a signature marquee sign, leading into the Caption by Hyatt brand’s food and beverage concept, Talk Shop.

This will be an all-day lounge that serves as a workspace, coffee shop, eatery, grab-and-go artisanal market and cocktail bar. It will be the social hub of the hotel.

“As a brand centered on enabling authentic connections and experiences for today’s tech-savvy traveller, this new development will create an environment where guests and locals alike can feel at home, in a space that reflects the character of the community,” said David Udell, group president, Asia Pacific, Hyatt.

The group plans to roll the brand out in further locations across Australia as well as within the broader Asia Pacific.

The Hyatt has been expanding rapidly in the lasty five years doubling the number of luxury rooms, tripling the number of resorts and quadrupling the number of lifestyle rooms in its portfolio.
