NRL legend Paul Gallen has been involved in an alleged brawl at a south coast pub.

The former Cronulla and NSW captain was left bloodied after he was caught up in the scuffle at the Shoalhaven Heads Hotel.

The channel nine commentator was captured on video grappling with a patron, but claims he didn’t throw a punch.

“I didn’t throw a punch,” Gallen told The Daily Telegraph.

“The video doesn’t show the entire situation.

“I’m more disappointed for putting myself in this situation.”

Friend Mark Levy was also at the pub and tried to temper the situation.

Levy who is also a Nine Network employee and works with Gallen on 2GB’s Continuous Call Team during the NRL season was heard saying: ‘Stop it. Enough, enough. Gal, stop’ as the former international is wrestled to the ground.

A second video shows bar staff wiping Gallen’s face with a cloth.

The action prompted one patron to sledge Gallen saying: “Thinks he’s mad”. At which point Gallen turned and charged towards the voice.
