Macro chocolate : product recall

The NSW Food Authority advises:

Woolworths is recalling some batches of its Macro Wholefoods lactose free dark chocolate Santas, Advent calendars and individually wrapped chocolate treats, sold in Woolworths, Safeway, Flemings, and Food for Less supermarkets in NSW and interstate.

The batches are being recalled because they contain milk without the required declaration on the label. Milk is an allergen for some people.

The recalled products and batches are:

  • Macro Wholefoods Market Dark Chocolate Santas, 80g, 6 individual Santa shaped lactose free chocolates, all 'best before' dates sold between 8 November 2011 and 17 April 2012.
  • Macro Wholefoods Market Dark Chocolate treats, 300g, individually wrapped lactose free chocolates, all 'best before' dates sold between 8 November 2011 and 17 April 2012.
  • Macro Wholefoods Market Dark Chocolate Star Box, 170g, individually wrapped lactose free chocolates arranged in a star formation, all 'best before' dates sold between 8 November 2011 and 17 April 2012.
  • Macro Wholefoods Market 65g, Christmas 2011 Advent calendar with lactose free dark chocolates and Santa, all 'best before' dates sold between 8 November 2011 and 17 April 2012.

The recall applies only to the above products.

Consumers with an allergy to milk should not consume the products.

Consumers can return the product to the place of purchase for a refund.
