Awards night recognises 40 of Queensland’s top restaurants

The annual Hostplus Restaurant & Catering Queensland and Northern Territory awards were held on Monday night, recognising over 40 of Queensland’s top restaurants.

Two of the state’s most popular restaurants, Montrachet and Bridgewater Q took out top honours at the awards.

Restaurant of the Year was awarded to Montrachet in Bowen Hills for southeast Queensland, while Bridgewater Q in Townsville won the title for North Queensland.

R&CA boss Wes Lambert stated, “We are tremendously lucky to have so many absolute gems in the hospitality sector spanning the width and breadth of the Sunshine State.”

Tom Manvell from Montrachet won Chef of the Year and the Casual Dining of the Year award was given to Little Glass Room Espresso Bar in Brisbane’s Mount Gravatt, which was also awarded best cafe. 

Two restaurants owned by the Gambaro family also received gongs. One for best formal seafood restaurant for Gambaro Seafood in Petrie Terrace and the other for best Formal Italian for Persone in Brisbane’s CBD. 

Spicers Retreats also received two awards, winning best Asian restaurant with The Balfour Kitchen in New Farm, and best fine dining for Homage in Granchester.
