New rooftop bar opens on the Gold Coast

The Gold Coast’s newest bar The Salty Fox opened last weekend offering an east meets west tapas style grazing menu, 15 beers on tap, a vibrant wine and cocktail list and to top it all off, exceptional views – to the west, watch the planes take off against the backdrop of the Bilambil Hinterland and to the east soak up coastal vistas from Surfers to Rainbow Beach and everywhere in between.

Located atop the brand-new Rydges Gold Coast Airport hotel, The Salty Fox is the jewel in the crown of the property and is set to offer locals, travellers, hotel guests and visitors a unique experience, unlike any other in the region.

THE EXPERIENCE

With coastal blues, natural fibre highlights and pops of colour through the interiors The Salty Fox’s bar extends onto an alfresco deck area, with amazing views from every table. This soon-to-be local favourite exudes laid back vibes, perfect for a quick after work drink, sun downer, long Sunday lunch or pre-flight beverage and will feature occasional live music and live sport coverage to add to the overall atmosphere.

THE FOOD

With nothing priced over $20, the menu features dishes designed to cater for a quick bite or for a longer grazing style meal with friends and includes: Ginger Beef Bao, Five-Spiced Calamari, Salty Fox Fried Chicken served with spicy pear-sesame sauce, Braised Pork Belly with 64 degree sou vied egg, Panko Crumbed Fish ‘n’ Chips, Fried Kimchi and Tofu Gyoza and Arabiki Sausage Hot Dog with karashi mustard mayo.

THE DRINKS

The drinks menu features 15 beers on tap, a strong showing of Australian and New Zealand wines alongside a tasteful selection of French champagnes, topped off with a raft of amazing cocktails.

The cocktail list features all the classics as well as Salty Fox signatures like The Foxy Devil, featuring George Dickel No. 8 bourbon, watermelon, lemon, bitters and orange, The GC Southside, a mix of Gordons dry gin, lime, elderflower, agave and fresh mint and the Whisky Landin’, with Johnny Walker whisky, lemon, honey and mint.
