Chinese restaurant owner stabbed in Adelaide

A group of suspected vandals allegedly attacked the owner of a Chinese restaurant in Adelaide's south, leaving him in hospital with serious injuries.

Police and paramedics were called to the Southern Palace Chinese Restaurant at around 11.45pm.

During the alleged assault at the takeaway noodle bar on Gulfview Road, Christies Beach, the owner was stabbed in the hand and punched in the head. He was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police have appealed to the public for information, saying they believed the perpetrators were believed to be a group of five unidentified males who may have been seen "spraying graffiti on the premises prior to the assault".

One was reportedly wearing a striped T-shirt and light-coloured tracksuit pants.

Police have asked anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
