Richard Ousby made Stokehouse Brisbane head chef
Richard Ousby, the 30-year-old former Quay (Sydney) sous chef and 2011 winner of the Electrolux Appetite for Excellence chef award, has been made Stokehouse Brisbane's head chef.
He has been at the restaurant since early this year.
The appointment, his first as a head chef, follows the recent resignation of incumbent Tony Kelly to move to the Sunshine Coast, where he joined the new Sheraton restaurant, Noosa Beach House Peter Kuruvita.
Ousby has long been considered a rising star in the industry but has bided his time waiting for that head chef position.
The move augurs well for the relatively safe Stokehouse menu style - a restaurant to keep an eye on.
