Cooked Corned Beef: recall

The NSW Food Authority advises:

Pendle Ham and Bacon has recalled batches of its cooked corn beef product sold from the Pendle Ham and Bacon Deli Store in Pendle Hill, NSW due to contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

Listeria infection can cause miscarriages in pregnant women, illness in the elderly and death in people with compromised immune systems.

The affected product is:

  • Cooked Corned Beef sold sliced in packets of 220g or 500g with ‘use-by’ dates of 24 July 13 to 02 Aug 13.

The recall only applies to the above products.

Consumers should not eat these products.

Consumers should return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.
