SilverNeedle to upgrade Country Comfort Perth

Country Comfort Perth will undergo a $14m upgrade following approval of a development application that takes the hotel’s capacity from 99 to 161 rooms. The upgrade is in direct response to demand from the mining and resource sector and comes as SilverNeedle announces the expansion of seven new properties to the group’s overall brand network.

The Country Comfort Perth continuously operates at or near 100% occupancy and has seen its room rates double over the last two years.

According to Jonathan Wooller, SilverNeedle Hospitality’s Vice President of Operations, “Country Comfort Perth’s close proximity to the airport is driving unprecedented demand from fly-in-fly-out miners who are looking for a well serviced, quality hotel that is conviently postioned. The property is experiencing significant year on year growth in occupancy and RevPar.”

In addition to offering an airport shuttle bus service, the hotel is servicing the mining clientele with a fine dining restaurant offering. The restaurant has undergone major refurbishments and the food and beverage menu tailored to appease hungry miners who often enjoy their last à la carte meal at the hotel before flying out to the mines. The new menu now includes a superior yet simple selection of meals such as a succulent rib eye steak and double shank plates.

The refurbishment of Country Comfort Perth comes as SilverNeedle Hospitality announced the addition of seven new properties to their portfolio, including two properties  in Townsville,  an area that is also experiencing room shortages due to the mining boom. The Country Comfort Townsville and  Chifley Plaza Hotel Townsvillle both opened on 1st May. An Australis Resort in Coffs Harbour, and three Sundowner Motor Inn properties at Albury, Warrnambool and Naracoorte also opened in recent months.
