Deadline looms for grog restrictions say

Licensees in the Pilbara have until the end of the week to submit comments to the director of liquor licensing about proposed liquor restrictions.

In a report revealing the extent of alcohol-related harm in the region, WA police and the West Pilbara Alcohol Management Group recommend restrictions be imposed.

After consideration of the report, the director says it would be in the public interest to impose restrictions on relevant licences.

The restrictions could limit what alcohol can be sold, how much and when.

The director has issued licensees with a show cause notice, asking why conditions should not be imposed.

Licensees have until Friday to do so.
