Pizza Hut, Gloria Jean's franchises close in Mudgee

Two of Mudgee’s global food and beverage franchises closed their doors on Monday night and have not opened since.

Mudgee’s Pizza Hut and Gloria Jean’s Coffees are understood to be closed until new franchisees are appointed.

On Wednesday Pizza Hut’s head of development and supply chain, Andy Masood, said the company was working towards securing the right franchisee to re-open the Mudgee store as soon as possible.

“The closure is temporary and Pizza Hut has every intention of continuing to provide the Mudgee community with our great-tasting pizzas,” he said.

He also said the potential new franchisee will be considering the option of employing existing staff as this “will help them be efficient in the business from an early stage”.

“However, this is a decision undertaken by the incoming franchisee and their discussions with the employees individually,” Mr Masood said.

The Mudgee Guardian tried to contact Gloria Jean’s Coffees operations manager Darren Drysdale but he did not return our calls.
