Phillip Island café to be raffled for $15

A couple on Victoria’s Phillip Island are offering their café for only $15, in the form of a raffle.

Island Whole Foods owners Laura and Matt McNamara say they want someone to experience the same way of life they have been lucky enough to enjoy over the last three years, as they move on to travel across Australia in a campervan with their two young children. The café emphases living sustainably and has an extensive vegan menu.

“When we looked at selling the cafe the focus was more on what we can get out of it, how much money can we get. It’s hard to put a price tag on something that you have poured your heart into,” McNamara told Yahoo7 News.

The business is valued at $187,000, with raffle tickets setting you back just $15. The prize includes their whole business, $10,000 cash and $4,000 worth of stock.

The draw will take place on October 16, with $2 of every ticket going to water pollution charity Take 3 for the Sea and other local charities.

For more details on the draw head to the cafe’s website.
