R&CA welcomes new ministry

Restaurant & Catering Australia (R&CA) has welcomed the return of the small business and industrial relations portfolios to cabinet as part of new Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s ministerial reshuffle.

R&CA CEO Juliana Payne congratulated Ministers Michaelia Cash and Kelly O’Dwyer on their appointments as Minister for Small and Family Business, Skills and Vocational Education and Minister for Jobs, Industrial Relations and Women respectively.

“In addition, we’d also like to congratulate Ministers Simon Birmingham and David Coleman on their appointments as Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment and Minister for Immigration, Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs,” she said.

“We are particularly pleased at the elevation of both the small business and workplace relations portfolios into cabinet. This is an important acknowledgement of the significance of these two policy areas in the Australian economy.

“Lastly, we’d like to acknowledge the work of outgoing Minister for Small and Family Business, the Workplace and Deregulation, Craig Laundy, for his previous contribution to the portfolio.

“R&CA is greatly looking forward to working with the Prime Minister’s new ministerial team and parliamentary colleagues to deliver the best possible outcomes for the country’s café, restaurant and catering sector.”
