Madeleine West confirms separation from chef Shannon Bennett
Former Neighbours star Madeleine West has announced her separation from celebrity chef Shannon Bennett after 13 years together.
West confirmed the rumours of a relationship breakdown to Stellar magazine, saying that she and Bennett are “striving to reconnect as friends and parents”.
“Having a public profile, having two high-pressure careers, having a multitude of children – and I will say they are a lot harder to train than dragons – it puts exponential pressures on a relationship, and cracks can form, and things that we don't necessarily plan in the beginning can happen,” she told Stellar.
Rumours of a split began last month after Woman's Day ran a report last month claiming that the couple broke up in July. However, Bennett appeared to quash the rumours by sharing a photo of Madeleine's name tattooed across his chest.
The couple have six children together, and only last year splashed out $16 million on a mansion in Melbourne’s Toorak. Bennett is a regular on MasterChef and is the executive chef of Melbourne fine-dining institution Vue de monde.
