Delaware North opens new dining venues at Sydney’s Central Station

Delaware North is opening several new food and beverage outlets at Sydney’s Central Railway Station.

The venues include Switchman Espresso (providing takeaway coffee, snacks and other refreshments); Central Food Market & 2000 Acres (a take-away or dine-in restaurant options housed within a market of shops); and Eternity (the signature venue of the new outlets, combining a modern and casual bar and grill for 220 guests).

Delaware North had its 25-year partnership with Sydney Trains extended earlier this year when it was successful in its bid to operate new venues within the heritage building.

“Delaware North is thrilled to be a part of the next phase of Sydney’s Central Station, which has been the heart of the Sydney and NSW rail system since it first opened in 1906,” said Delaware North’s managing director, Gary Brown.

“Our business prides itself on long-term relationships, so it was especially pleasing to be able to continue the 25-year partnership we have had with Sydney Trains, and work with their outstanding team to develop an impressive range of food and beverage offerings catering to a wide variety of tastes.”

Delaware North’s Sydney Central Railway general manager, Andre Slootweg, said sourcing local ingredients was a priority for chefs and catering staff at the new venues.

“We’ve gone to great lengths to use local ingredients for all our fresh food where practicable and much of the wine and beer on our menus hail from regional winemakers and craft brewers,” Slootweg said.
