Thieves steal thousands of oysters

Thieves have stolen thousands of oysters at Port Stephens after raiding a local lease.

Police say between July the 6th and 10th, 300 dozen oysters were ripped from a lease at Cromarty Bay at Soldiers Point.

The oysters were removed by a person in a boat during low tide and have a potential street value of nearly three-thousand dollars.

Police are warning business and restaurant owners to be on the look out for anyone trying to sell Pacific Oysters.
