Take a spring break at our regional hotels

Regional accommodation hotels are set to benefit from a unique new campaign aimed at driving Sydneysiders’ tourist dollar directly to regional NSW, Tourism Accommodation Australia (NSW) director Carol Giuseppi said today.

Ms Giuseppi said the launch of Destination NSW’s “Make Some Our Time” campaign would help boost visitor numbers to regional centres like Newcastle and the Hunter, Wollongong, Blue Mountains, Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie.

“Regional NSW is full of natural wonders and this new campaign features the best we have to offer,” she said.

“This new campaign is underpinned by a million dollars in free regional accommodation vouchers up for grabs for Sydneysiders and I am sure many will take advantage of this great offer and get out there to our beautiful beaches, the mountains and the areas west of the divide.”

Ms Giuseppi said TAA (NSW) welcomed the State Government’s investment in a campaign aimed directly at increasing regional visitation.

“While overall regional NSW accommodation recorded a 2% increase in occupied room nights to the year ending March 2012, there is room for a lot more growth,” she said.

“TAA (NSW) and our members support any campaigns that help drive demand to our unique regional destinations.

“There are a lot of fantastic places just a short drive from Sydney - from the Hunter vineyards to the Blue Mountains, the Southern Highlands to the South Coast and beyond.

“This new campaign will give Sydneysiders a million new reasons to take a short break.”
