A New Direction For the Central Coast’s Nightlife

Cara O Cruz Tapas Restaurant and Bar have recently refurbished and redecorated their top floor into the “Cara o Cruz Lounge Room”, a stylish place where people can meet family and friends for a cocktail or two in a relaxing atmosphere, enjoying the panoramas of Terrigal.

The Cocktail Lounge provides a new nightspot for the Coast, promoting more of a sophisticated lounge atmosphere and a small bar culture, which is a change from the standard pub and beer garden venues in the area.

Locals David Elliott and Luke Wright opened The Lounge Room because for years they had heard Central Coast residents say there was never a place to go to for quality cocktail. They wanted a place where you didn’t have to worry about loud crowds or being moved around like cattle after the midnight restrictions.

“We are passionate about all things food, wine and hospitality and more importantly the locals are enjoying having the options”, he added.

As part of the new venture David and Luke set out to attract attention from the major brands to the local area and now as the premier venue on the Coast, The Lounge Room has gained support from the best brandssuch as Moet and Chandon, Belvedere Vodka and Hennessy Cognac.

“We spent a lot of time speaking to key suppliers trying to get the very best products we can offer and as a result we have the best produce, the best champagnes and the best spirits all on offer in our venue”, said David.

The Lounge room is the second area for Cara o Cruz which opened the Tapas Restaurant downstairs last July. The Restaurant offers a modern flair on traditional Spanish tapas, offering delicious and tasteful options to accompany a select wine list to provide the ultimate dining experience.

David and Luke hope the venue is the first of many to lift the dining and nightlife experience on the Central Coast because it is a beautiful area filled with some great people. Both Luke and David enjoy theculture associated with small drinking holes and they are encouraging others to create similar venues in the area.

General Manager Luke Wright is a highly qualified Sommelier and has selected a brilliant range of wines to accompany the Spanish tapas.

Head of Events from Central Coast Tourism, Mr Chris King visited the venue and said “Wow, what a great first class bar and venue with such atmosphere and discernment right in the heart of Terrigal”.
