New $17.5m slimline hotel set for Adelaide
A hotel only eight metres wide is set to be built in Adelaide’s North Terrace if it is approved this week.
The 16-storey hotel and cafe complex “geared towards the younger tourist demographic” will offer 253 rooms, 17 of which have been modified for people with a disability.
“In response to a growing micro hotel trend, the accommodation type has been geared towards the younger tourist demographic,” stated a report to the panel on behalf of the developer.
“Unique in its proportions, our site has remained underutilised as a rental vehicle carpark and office.”
The primary entrance of the $17.5 million micro hotel would be on Frome St, which has a frontage of 59.2-metres.
The hotel is being developed by 274 North Terrace Pty Ltd, which is a subsidiary of Hines Property.
