Merivale’s catering arm snags Melbourne Cup contract
Merivale has been enlisted as one of the official caterers for the upcoming Melbourne Cup carnival later this year.
Catering company Made By Merivale has been enlisted as one of the official food providers for the Melbourne Cup alongside The Big Group, which has been catering The Birdcage for 21 years, and Peter Rowland who has been doing it for 25 years. Merivale will cater for the Furphy and Champagne Mumm enclosure.
“We started Made By Merivale about three years ago and we just approached it softly-softly, so all our work has been based around requests,” Hemmes told Sunday Confidential.
“To branch out and do it in Melbourne is a big deal for us. We were fortunate enough that we had some requests from our clients who have marquees there so we had to go through the process to get accepted.”
