The Dunes cafe has reopened in Ocean Grove

Dunes Cafe

New leaseholder Tarren Colwell has reopened the new look Dunes café in Ocean Grove as part of the $9 million Ocean Grove Surf Life Saving Club complex redevelopment.

The beachfront venue near Geelong has had a complete facelift and menu transformation, according to Colwell.

“We hope it’s really well received by people from the Bellarine and Greater Geelong,” he told the Geelong Advertiser. “We hope they share our vision.”

The old “red and green tables, purple chairs and carpet” are gone with a modern venue in its place featuring double the capacity and floor-to-ceiling windows with ocean views.

“We tried to complement the new architecture of the building and create a space that the Ocean Grove community can be proud of and feel welcome and comfortable,” he said. “It’s miles apart from what it used to be.”

After three years on Hamilton Island, head chef Jeremy Drummond has relocated to take charge of the menu which includes an all-day breakfast menu. There is also an Italian pizza fire oven serving up signature slices and seven meat options.
