Sydney Korean soju restaurant slammed for serving patrons 86 drinks
The owner of Haru Fusion Soju Lounge in Sydney's Castlereagh Street is being criticised for allowing a group of diners to become so drunk that some later passed out on the street.
The NSW Liquor and Gaming Authority has imposed a strike against the venue licensee after the group of five were allegedly served 86 shots of Korean liquor soju during a six-hour birthday celebration at the restaurant.
CCTV footage from the restaurant showed a female staff member not taking any action as she walked straight past a man from the group as he slept at a table in the restaurant.
The footage also showed another man falling over after losing his balance, and a woman being carried out of the venue by two other patrons.
After the group left the restaurant police found a woman unconscious outside the venue next to her own vomit while a man had to be moved from the road to the footpath by passersby after passing out.
