US food delivery giant to enter Australian food market

US-based delivery platform DoorDash is set to enter the Australian market, according to a report by The Sydney Morning Herald.

A spokesperson told SMH the company is “continually assessing new opportunities” but did not confirm an official launch date.

The company is currently hiring with roles including general manger and head of business development based in Melbourne.

The Australian website is live with a landing page for restaurants to sign up for the platform.

Worth approximately US$12.6 billion DoorDash was founded in San Francisco in 2013 and has a larger market share in the US than Uber Eats.
