Iconic outback pub up for sale

An outback pub in New South Wales that has seen the likes Mel Gibson, Bryan Brown and Rachel Ward sit down for a beer is up for sale.

Now in their seventies, Owners Peter and Patsy Price have decided to call time and are moving from the tiny desert town of Silverton.

The remote drinking hole attracts around 120,000 tourists each year who come to see the historic pub that appeared in some of the nation's most iconic films including Mad Max, Priscilla Queen of the Desert and A Town Like Alice.

The walls are covered with photographs and memorabilia of the many stars who have sat at the bar.

"Three-hundred meals a day through school holidays, and we employ 12 staff – we have really kicked it along from that little country pub," Peter told A Current Affair.

The couple, who say there is a “good buck” to be made running the pub, are looking for offers around $2.5 million
