Barangaroo’s 12-Micron to shut its doors after three years

Barangaroo restaurant 12-Micron and dessert bar is closing after a three-year run.

The 230-seat restaurant led by executive chef Justin Wise and 64-seat dessert bar overseen by Darren Purchese launched after one of the most expensive fit-outs in Sydney at $9 million.

An exact closure date is yet to be finalised but will be "probably in about two weeks", according to a spokesperson for the restaurant.

The venue’s owner, Australian Venue Co, has found a buyer, with incoming operator Dockside Group intending to run it as a dedicated event space.

Australian Venue Co chief executive Paul Waterson said the sale allowed the company to focus on more casual bars and pub opportunities in NSW.
