Subiaco Hotel snapped up by local hoteliers
WA hotel proprietors Dave Allan and Lawson Douglas have acquired the historic Subiaco Hotel in Perth for an undisclosed sum.
The new owners also own two other historic pubs, the Rose Hotel in Bunbury and the Exchange Hotel in Kalgoorlie.
The leasehold was sold after 50 years by operators Michael and Judy Monaghan, who last redeveloped the venue in 2013 with a million-dollar refurbishment.
"We are proud to become only the second owners of the property and continue the tradition of one of Perth’s favourite pubs,” Allan said.
“It is a grand building with great charm and an important Perth landmark, dating from 1897. We don’t plan to make significant changes, other than enhancing what is there and ensuring our offering is in line with the market.”
