Popular Launceston seafood restaurant under contract
Launceston seafood restaurant Hallam is now under contract after it was put up for sale a month ago as a vacant possession.
Shepherd & Heap commercial real estate agent Marcus Douglas said offers around $1.5 million would reflect the value of the venue, which was put up for sale after its owner, Salisbury Hallam Pty Ltd, was wound up in insolvency a fortnight ago.
This is the first time it has been put on the market in 32 years, with the owners looking to pay off a $668,488 tax debt after Federal Court registrar Susie Stone refused a request for more time to pay.
