Another plan for former Le Cornu site

Another proposal has been mooted for the former Le Cornu retail site at North Adelaide.

Developers Makris Group and Walker Corporation say they plan to develop the 7,500-square-metre site in O'Connell Street, which has now been vacant for 23 years.

A plan for a six-storey hotel, apartments and retailers fell through last year.

The two developers say they are planning a $200 million mixed-use project.

There are plans for high-end retailers, cafes, restaurants and office space on the lower levels.

The upper levels would have apartments and penthouses.

Walker Corporation said it had been encouraged by recent South Australian Government changes to CBD and near-city planning laws.
