Adelaide hospitality team to turn Burnside butcher into cafe

A new all-day food, coffee and liquor café concept is set to open in the Adelaide suburb of Burnside.

A partnership between the Peter Rabbit team of James McIntyre, Jack Nelligan and James Lambert and West Oak Hotel head chef Adam Robinson will see an old suburban butcher shop transformed into the High Street café.

Slated to open in mid-2020, High Street will to operate from 7am ‘til 4pm seven days, with a menu centred on all all-day brunch options.

“I’m really trying to keep the menu tight and seasonal, so regularly rotating it, using seasonal produce,” Robinson told CityMag.

“Brunch is my favourite meal of the day – I just got back from a brunch tour of Melbourne – so I just wanted to create something that I wanted to eat, based on what other people aren’t offering.”

Alongside coffee from 1645 Coffee Roasters, the venue will also be licenced, with wine and craft beer on tap available.

High Street will also offer a takeaway menu as well as an offering of smallgoods, olives, fresh eggs, and milk.
