Partner of man who killed a young chef jailed for lying to police

A woman who helped her drug dealer boyfriend try and get away with the murder of 27-year-old Wagga Wagga chef Allecha Boyd has been jailed.

Tracy Lee King pleaded guilty to being an accessory after the fact to the killing of Boyd who was gunned down by Samuel John Shephard on a road outside Coolamon in the southern NSW Riverina in August 2017.

King was sentenced to two years and three months' jail with a non-parole period of one year and three months.

On the day leading to her murder, Boyd was driven to Shephard's home to buy drugs. She was then driven by Shephard and Anthony Hagan to meet up with Shephard's lover Katie Barnett on a dirt road.

Barnett confronted Boyd over an alleged break-in at her home before Shephard pulled out a pistol and shot Boyd several times.

Shephard and Hagan then buried Boyd's body in the Lester State Forest. It has never been found.

King become aware of the murder but denied any knowledge of it to police in an attempt to protect Shephard.

More than a year after the murder, King also drove another man to Lester State Forest to make sure the body was not in danger of being found.

When she was arrested, King admitted lying, saying Shephard had threatened to harm her if she revealed what she knew.
