New ocean front venue for revamped Crowne Plaza Sydney Coogee Beach

Beachfront hotel Crowne Plaza Sydney Coogee Beach is finishing off its multi-million revamp, which includes two new restaurant and bar venues.

The new restaurant and bar concepts will be opened in stages and will reflect the relaxed beachside location and vibe.

A new ground floor restaurant with stunning ocean views will open in January while a second culinary space due to open in February is located below the hotel offering guests an array of dining and entertainment options.

An as yet unnamed celebrity chef will be overseeing the menus of the new venues.

The hotel has also appointed Alok Jambhore as new executive chef of hotel events. Jambhore is also planning to launch a curated collection of Coogee inspired events including a Coogee Corroboree with a menu featuring Australia’s Indigenous Bush Tucker.

“The underlying theme for the events menus and all-inclusive packages will be reflective of the Coastlines of the world, whilst also giving a nod to the stunning location of Coogee Beach and the indigenous roots and history of the area,” said area general manager Gareth Long.

As part of the re-design the hotel’s 209 guest rooms will get a new look, reflective of the hotel’s seaside location, which includes a complete re-fit of all the bathrooms. Ten new guestrooms will also be added to the hotel.

When the first phase of the re-design is completed in early January, it will include half of the guest rooms, a new lobby and arrival experience and the Studio – an area which can be used either as a private meeting or event space or as social shared work space.

“In terms of location, the Crowne Plaza Sydney Coogee Beach is second to none,” said Long.

“What we can now offer guests is much more flexibility when it comes to staying here on business, with upgraded technology, smarter use of our social spaces and responding better to the changing ways in which people do business.”

Phase Two of the re-design will be completed by September 2020 and includes the remainder of the guestrooms, the hotel exterior and the pool area.
