The Beach House Geelong begins afresh

The Beach House Geelong has reopened under Melbourne-based hospitality outfit The Mulberry Group.

The two-storey venue has been closed since 2016, but has reopened offering a cafe, kiosk and function centre.

The upper storey has been converted into a new function centre called Upstairs at The Beach House Geelong following a partnership with Pot and Pan Melbourne.

“We wanted to keep it clean and simple, keep the bones but bring it back to life and into a new era,” The Mulberry Group chief executive Nathan Toleman told the Geelong Advertiser.

The menu has been designed by chef Sandy Melgalvis, from The Mulberry Group’s former project Top Paddock, with an emphasis on simplicity.

“We embrace what is around us and use as much fresh and seasonal produce from the area as possible,” Toleman told the Geelong Advertiser.

The Beach House Geelong general manager Sam Slattery said they are using local suppliers for their beach inspired fare.
