Raise your glass to the “best of the best” Victorian wines

Fed Square’s Atrium on Wednesday for the annual Fed Square Wine Awards. The awards recognise the outstanding producers of Victoria’s wine industry with ‘Best of the Best’ awards going to wineries from the four corners of Victoria.

The 2010 Yarra Valley Chardonnay from Seville Estate was crowned Wine of the Year. Owned by Graham and Margaret Van Der Meulen, the first vines at Seville Estate were planted by Dr Peter McMahon in 1972, marking the emergence of the Yarra Valley as a premium chardonnay wine region. Today, Dylan McMahon, grandson of Peter, holds the role of wine maker, producing wines that focus of elegance and finesse, while showcasing fantastic complexity and structure.
