Heston Blumenthal booted from MasterChef after underpayment scandal

Heston Blumenthal has been booted from Channel 10’s MasterChef following the underpayment scandal at his high-end Melbourne restaurant.

Blumenthal has been a fixture on the show as guest judge, but reports that his company underpaid staff more than $4 million and the termination of Dinner By Heston’s lease at Crown Melbourne have been too much for Network 10 who announced yesterday that he will no longer appear on the show.

“Heston has been a long-time member of the MasterChef Australia family, but he will not be appearing in the upcoming season,” a spokesman told the Herald Sun.

MasterChef is rebooting with a completely new line-up following the departure of hosts George Calombaris, Gary Mehigan and Matt Preston.

The show will now be fronted by Jock Zonfrillo, Melissa Leong and Andy Allen.
