A worker has been flown to Royal Perth Hospital after he was rescued from debris caused by an accident at the new Hotel Rottnest Resort development.

Fire and Rescue Service firefighters and private volunteer firefighters pulled the man from debris after the scaffolding he was on collapsed from a concrete pour on the top level leaked.

According to a report in WAtoday, "some concrete had fallen from the top floor" after a concrete pour, hitting the scaffolding the man was on and trapping him underneath debris.

Another worker was also injured in the accident but did not require hospitalisation.

WorkSafe said it had begun an investigation into the incident.
