Hilton Brisbane adapts to pandemic in true hospitality style

Travel and tourism has been a leading force behind Australia’s economy for years. As the world adapts to the pandemic and industries develop new regulations, so does tourism and hospitality with the added challenge of border closures and capacity limits.

Hilton Brisbane General Manager, Chris Partridge has been with the international company for almost 35 years, starting as a dishwasher in Hilton on Park Lane in London. With experience across food and beverage, business development and operations, Chris has seen the eb and flow of travel trends but COVID-19 is the biggest disruption to tourism to date:

"The industry has become very agile in reacting to the impact of the pandemic. Understanding how a business can continue in a Covid safe environment has been key to providing guests with the confidence that they can stay at a hotel or dine in a café or restaurant and be assured appropriate procedures are in place to ensure not only their health and safety but also that of the employees.

As a result of the pandemic Hilton took the opportunity to build on already high standards of cleanliness and develop Hilton CleanStay. This global initiative ensures that guests can feel reassured of their health and safety from welcome to farewell with high touch points in guest rooms being appropriately cleaned and disinfected. This is visually reinforced by the Hilton CleanStay door seal which is applied after a room has been cleaned, sanitised and checked for a new guest arrival. Other initiatives have built on digital technology to provide contact free options for customers, public areas being cleaned and sanitised frequently and adapting food and beverage service to ensure physical distancing and prevent risk."

Hilton Brisbane has implemented their CleanStay program as a direct solution to the pandemic and heightened health and safety concerns, particularly in the tourism industry. On top of their regular cleaning protocols,

Hilton is taking the utmost care to ensure the safety of guests and visitors including; consistent disinfecting, sanitisation stations, contactless check-in, digital keys, increased cleaning, social distancing guides and contactless in-room dining deliveries. All rooms are sealed with a Hilton CleanStay Room Seal ensuring each suite is untouched before your stay.
