CCA gets nod for soft drinks deal

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has announced it will not oppose Coca-Cola Amatil's acquisition of the non-alcoholic beverages business of Foster's Group.

The deal follows CCA's purchase of the brewer's Fiji liquor operations in March, and is the final asset swap resulting from Foster's acquisition by SABMiller.

The ACCC says Foster's has more than 20 non-alcoholic beverage brands in Australia, including Cascade, Apple Isle and Nature's Orchard.
