A second Star to tower over the Gold Coast in 2024

The second hotel and apartment tower at The Star Gold Coast is now under construction.

The $400 million project features 63 storeys with 210 five-star hotel rooms and 457 apartments.

The tower will form part of The Star Residences Gold Coast’ and is located on the most south-eastern part of Broadbeach Island.

A new 310-space car park in a six level podium structure, will be available for customers and residents along with dedicated bicycle spaces for residents.

The second tower is being constructed as part of The Star’s expansion and will join initial

53-storey tower which houses Australia’s first Dorsett hotel, along with 422 apartments. This is due to be completed  early next year.

Behind this masterplan is the Destination Gold Coast Consortium (DGCC), a joint venture between The Star Entertainment Group, Chow Tai Fook Enterprises and Far East Consortium.

Destination Gold Coast Consortium (DGCC) Project Director Jaime Cali said “This second hotel and apartment tower is a significant development that will provide great job opportunities here on the Gold Coast.

“We have 60 workers on site currently undertaking the piling and in-ground activities that will prepare the site for above-ground column construction.

“However, construction on the whole tower is expected to deliver 1800 direct and indirect jobs, reaching peak construction in 2023 when the tower is expected to require more than 500 people on site.”

The second tower is expected to open in 2024.

By 2024, The Star Gold Coast will offer four hotels with close to 1200 hotel rooms and suites.

It will also provide close to 900 apartments allowing guests to appreciate luxury apartment living.
