Investment company APH expands hotel portfolio with Accor

A seven level Accor hotel will be opening in Hawthorn in Melbourne eastern suburbs,  offering 87 premium suites.

Construction on the hotel is set to start in the coming months, with completion due at the beginning of 2023.

The Novotel Hawthorn will replace the office which is headquarters to APH, a private asset management and investment company.

As part of its 10-year portfolio growth strategy, APH will retain the $50 million asset and add 1200 hotel keys over the next 5 years and 3000 over the next 10 years.

Christos Pavlidis, APH’s general manager of food and beverage said API is in talks with other premium international hotel brands in relation to other projects.

“This hotel investment shows our continued confidence in Melbourne’s property, hospitality and tourism markets, which we believe are already showing strong signs of bouncing back post COVID,” said Pavlidis.

The venue located at 858 Glenferrie Road will have all day dining, a bar, multi-purpose function space, business lounge, a gym and health club.

Accor has around 400 venues across Australia and the Pacific, including Pullman, Sofitel, Mercure, Novotel and Ibis brands

It also operates some leisure brands such as Mondriaan and Mama Shelter.
