NRL stars buy into the Laundy family’s Bayview Hotel

Former NRL stars Sam and Luke Burgess have bought into a Brisbane pub with the Laundy family, with hints there may be more purchases in the future.

The brothers have bought into the Bayview Hotel on the Brisbane Water harbourfront in Woy Woy.

The ex-NRL players confirmed the news on Saturday with The Sunday Telegraph, issuing a statement saying: “We are extending our longstanding friendship into a working relationship.

“We have a huge amount of respect for what the Laundy family have created and we’re both extremely excited to be working with the best in the business.”

Stuart Laundy has stated that the offer to the Burgess boys extends beyond the Bayview, to all Laundy establishments.

“The option is open to Luke and Sam to buy into any pub they want with Dad and me, we are best mates,” he said.

“Lukey boy has subscribed to the Stu Laundy school of hotel management … we’re not great at pouring beers but we have a bloody good time trying,” Laundy said.

“Both Sam and Luke are close friends of the Laundy family.”

The Bayview was the subject of an off-market purchased by Stuart and his father Arthur Laundy, who paid a record Central Coast price of approximately $38 million.
