MasterChef’s Bronte restaurant to close its doors

Australian MasterChef judge Andy Allen has announced his restaurant Three Blue Ducks Bronte is closing.

The 33-year-old shared the news on Saturday on his Instagram account, writing, “The day has finally come to close the doors on our beloved Bronte Ducks.

“This little place has meant so much to us. It has always been a place of community, both within and outside the walls.

Thank you to everyone involved, past and present. Thanks for the laughs, thanks for the tears, we have all learnt so much about each other and ourselves.

“We built this place with our hands, we cooked in this place with our hands, and now it's time to hand it over.”

Even though the Bronte restaurant is closing, venues in Rosebery, Byron Bay and Brisbane remain open.

Allen co-owned the business with Mark LaBrooy, Darren Robertson, Chris Sorrell, Sam Reid-Boquist and Jeff Bennett.

The news comes just weeks after Channel 10 announced that MasterChef will be returning.

Allen will judge alongside Melissa Leong and Jock Zonfrillo.

“We are back for another action-packed season of thrills, chills and kitchen spills… we couldn't be more pumped!” said Leong in a statement.

“Add to that a handful of new MasterChef foodies going head-to-head with beloved characters from the MasterChef universe over the years… and then of course there's Julie Goodwin.”
